SharePoint 2010 Assessment Service
The Readify Sharepoint 2010 Assessment Service enables organisations to determine the readiness of migrating existing business applications from an earlier version of Sharepoint, or developed on a competing platform (e.g. Lotus Notes), to Sharepoint 2010. Our consultants combine market leading expertise in .NET with practical experience of Sharepoint 2010. We use a structured methodology to assess applications and their dependencies then estimate the cost/benefit of migration; and deliver a migration roadmap.
How the Service Works
The Sharepoint 2010 Assessment Service comprises two discrete phases. At the end of Phase One the client Readify determines the scope of the migration, along with dependencies, application functionality, and detailed opportunities on the new platform.
At the end of Phase Two, the client receives a detailed report and presentation. This details the optimal migration path, along with applications to phase out, recommendations to benefit from Sharepoint 2010, and a full cost/benefits analysis of migration.
Phase One (Est. 5 days)
In Phase 1 a Readify Sharepoint Technical Specialist evaluates the current architecture, codebase, and documentation of the intranet applications. During this phase we will perform walkthroughs of all of the applications; interview key stakeholders both from the business, and the development teams; and examine code and documentation.
The Readify consultant then collates and documents this knowledge as input for Phase 2.
Phase Two (Est. 5 days)
In Phase Two the Readify Team develops the Sharepoint 2010 Roadmap, working closely with the client Project Manager. For most clients a Readify Technical Specialist generally completes this phase in five days, however for more complex applications; we may augment the TS with a Readify Senior Developer. Applications with significant custom applications or systems integration dependencies may take longer.
During this phase the Readify TS uses their knowledge of Sharepoint 2010 to seek opportunities to consolidate, or even phase out applications, provide extra functionality, and reduce cost. The team will develop a Proof of concept of one or more of the current applications to demonstrate the power of the platform.
At the end of the engagement Readify will deliver both a presentation detailing our findings, along with a detailed report with recommendations.
