Browser Wars
One of our Web Technical Specialists, Aaron Powell has posted a thought provoking article about the state of web-standards and the trend back towards the "good old days" of when web-sites refused to allow users to play because they weren't using a specific browser version.
The general advice that we give to customers is to design as much as possible to the web-standards and then check how well the experience works in each browser that you need to support. You can then introduce hacks as necessary. This latest flare up in the browser wars, and the shifting user statistics around browser usage just confirms how important web-standards are to maintain a usable web.
Aside from new browser features, performance seems to be a hot topic these days, and one of our consultants, Alex Mackey has done a good job pulling together some statistics and presenting them in a useful way.
