Centricom's upgraded POLi System goes live!

Since its launch in 2004, Australian-based Company, Centricom, has been steadily building and refining its online payments business. Under the guidance of Managing Director Simon Warner, along with his team of 15 dedicated professionals, the Centricom team brings together industry experts in banking, on-line transactional processing and Web based services.

What is POLi?

As an e-commerce focused company, Centricom was proud to introduce into the marketplace POLi; a quick and easy way to process online payments directly from a bank account. POLi provides a new payment system that allows merchants also pay directly from their bank account into another merchant account, allowing millions of customers and e-commerce merchants without credit cards the ability to shop online and process online payments with ease.

The recently upgraded POLi service is currently operating in three countries; Australia, New Zealand and, with its partner ATM Solutions, South Africa.

Centricom contacted Readify to assist with the development of upgraded POLi. The scope of development for POLi was vast and Centricom decided that they were under-resourced to cope with the scale and timeline required to develop the new version.

Centricom's CTO, who had previously worked with Readify, decided Readify was the company that had the expertise and experience required to develop POLi and make it an outstandingly safe and secure online payment system.

Readify supplies TFS expert to seal the deal!

Readify supplied an experienced TFS senior developer - Damian Edwards to assist Centricom. Damian worked with the in-house development team at Centricom to build POLI 2.

Developed in TFS, Centricom chose to use TFS because of the features it offered as a unified development tool. TFS provides succinct visibility around the code, creating a transparent feedback loop on the development project that is being undertaken.

Daniel Stones from Centricom comments: "TFS allows for continuous integration, providing real time building, and an overall higher efficiency rating on our project POLi. In addition to this, we used a number of TFS modules for testing, load and performance metric tests via Microsoft Visual Studio".

TFS is so great because...

Stones believes the team selected TFS because of version control. Version control essentially allows for the build management and software lifecycle to be taken into consideration, maintaining integrity across a number of different codes and implementation. Stones also commented on two other key features within TFS:

  • Work item tracking
  • Project management which provides a complete business view of the project's status.

POLi goes live!

POLi is now fully developed and is the first end to end product developed entirely by Centricom with the expertise of Readify's Damian Edwards.

Online merchants of any sort can use POLi from Government departments to online gaming, travel and tourism companies who need to broaden their online receivables methods.

POLi can be downloaded automatically from Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers automatically.
